Hi! As people who wander the night a lot, we’ve spent thousands of hours with our Ravelights.
Here are some useful tips we’ve learned for using your Ravelights at festivals & conventions.
1. Make your Ravelights Last All Night
Ravelights can easily last the whole night, but if you’re night is exceptionally long, here are some tips:
1. Hold the (-) button to lower brightness. Even a very small reduction in brightness can dramatically increase how long your Ravelights last on a charge.
2. Set your Ravelights to Music Mode. Music mode is great for looking cool and being great on battery life, since not all pixels need to illuminate at once.
Tip: Double tap the heart button to check how much charge is left in your Ravelight.
Fun Fact: Red is the most power efficient colour on the Ravelights! Can you guess the most power hungry colour? (uǝǝɹƃ ʇɥƃᴉl s,ʇᴉ)
2. Decorate Your Space When You’re Back at Your Room or Tent
We’ve found that Ravelights make very good ambient lighting.
The Ravelights rope is made of nylon and is super strong, there are so many things you can do it was hard to pick just one example photo.
You can do things like tie a speaker in a tree (above). Ravelights also have two clip points and come with spare carabiners, so you can clip them to your tent, structure, or just tie a Ravelight in a knot and use it as a lantern.
For hotel rooms, use Mounting Kit to stick your Ravelights to the walls for when you’re back from the con floor. Once you install the mounting clips, you can mount and unmount your Ravelights as needed. And the adhesive used does not hurt the walls and comes off when you’re done the weekend.
